Clinical Indications
OptiBond™ Universal 360 is a versatile universal adhesive indicated for all adhesive techniques, direct and indirect restorations, cementation on teeth and prosthetic materials, repairs, dentin sealing, and clinical situations with limited or no light.
Direct restorations
Bonding on enamel and dentin, is suitable for total etch, self-etch and selective enamel etch techniques.
Indirect restorations
It’s used for inlays and onlays, veneers, partial and full crowns and suitable for all indirect restorative materials.
Cementation
It is suitable for light-cure, dual-cure, and self-cure (dark-cure) cements, and in combination with Maxcem Elite™ Universal, it provides even stronger bonding.
Dentin Sealing
Sealing of dentinal tubules to reduce postoperative sensitivity and improve pulp protection.
Repair procedures
It can be used as universal adhesive in chairside repair of composite restorations, ceramics, zirconia and metal.
Core build-up
It can be used both for adhesive core build-ups with composite materials and for creating an adhesive foundation prior to crowns or indirect restorations.

Truly universal thanks to its new formula
Enhanced monomer system for broad substrate compatibility
OptiBond™ 360 combines GPDM and MDP monomers to ensure strong adhesion to dental tissues and restorative materials. Its optimized hydrophilicity, hydrophobicity, and pH provide reliable bonding across a wide range of substrates while allowing convenient room-temperature storage.
Posterior Quadrant Restoration with a Single Shade Composite
Clinical case by Dr. Murad Akhundov
“OptiBond™ 360 adhesive, ensure reliable bonding and optimal integration of the final composite restoration.”
BEFORE
AFTER
This clinical case highlights the effectiveness of one shade modern bulk‑fill in achieving restorations that are both esthetically harmonious and functionally durable. The integration of selective etching, controlled bonding protocols, and characterization with fissure staining further enhanced the natural appearance, creating a lifelike three‑dimensional effect.
Cavity preservation and etching
After cavity preparation and matrix placement, a 37% phosphoric acid solution was applied to the enamel for 30 seconds, achieving optimal etching before bonding.
Bonding application
A universal bonding agent (OptiBond™ Universal 360, Kerr) was applied to both enamel and dentin, gently agitated for 15 seconds to enhance adhesion. The surface was then air‑dried for 10 seconds to effectively evaporate the solvent.
Sealing the cavity
Simplishade Bulk Fill Flow (Kerr) was applied to seal the dentin and reinforce the hybrid layer. This step provided a strong foundation for subsequent composite layering and enhanced adhesion.
Finishing restoration
Final restorations were completed with SimpliShade Bulk Fill paste which is only one shade, and the occlusal anatomy was meticulously modelled using the Espresso Posterior technique.

Improved compatibility with dark-cure cementation
Provides reliable polymerization without curing light activation
OptiBond™ Universal 360 is formulated to ensure reliable polymerization even without direct light activation (“dark cure”).
This is particularly relevant for indirect restorations cemented with dual-cure or self-adhesive resin cements, where light transmission may be limited.
Conservative Single-Visit Management of Deep Caries with a Bio–bulk-fill approach
Clinical case by Dr. Vincenzo Tosco
“The use of OptiBond™ 360 with a standardized application protocol allowed effective substrate interaction and long-term performance.”
BEFORE
AFTER
The application of the OptiBond™ 360 universal adhesive system played a key role in enhancing the clinical predictability of the restorative procedure. By providing a consistently strong and stable bond, this adhesive contributed significantly to the reliability and long-term performance of the restoration, as clearly demonstrated in this case.
Pulp cavity preservation
Immediately after placement of the bioactive dentin substitute, a self-adhesive flowable composite, Vertise™ Flow, was applied to seal the cavity, allowing subsequent adhesive procedures to be performed without damaging the pulp-capping material.
Adhesive application
Adhesive procedures were carried out as for untreated cavities, disregarding the presence of the previously applied material. OptiBond™ 360, was applied with active scrubbing in two consecutive layers, followed by 20 seconds of gentle air-drying and light-curing.
Filling the cavity
The cavity was restored using the same SimpliShade™ Bulk-Fill composite employed for the previous restorations. The material was carefully adapted, and any excess was removed, preparing the surface for the subsequent application of the Espresso Posterior Technique.
Final Step
Final restorations were completed with SimpliShade Bulk Fill paste which is only one shade, and the occlusal anatomy was meticulously modelled using the Espresso Posterior technique.
