Bioactive Sealers – The best choice to filling root canals in teeth with apical periodontitis

Clinical case by dr. Key Fabiano Souza Pereira
“The single cone technique with the bioactive sealer BioRoot RCS has the potential to be adjuvant in a fast and complete healing of extensive periapical lesion after adequate disinfection of the root canal system”
The root canals were filled using the single cone technique with BioRoot

Some Tips!
“The endodontic obturation performed with BioRoot™ RCS bioceramic sealer combined with the single cone technique, allowed to achieve success in endodontic retreatment in a case of symptomatic apical periodontitis with extensive bone loss.”
Dr. André Luiz da Costa MichelottoSpecialist in Endodontics
Hydraulic Filling

BioRoot™ RCS introduces the concept of Hydraulic Filling, which releases the achievement of a tight endodontic seal from technique dependence. Both the lateral and apical seal are obtained with a simple cold technique. The procedure is simple and fast while, at the same time, BioRoot™ RCS ensures the long-term clinical success.
01. HYDROPHILICITY
It flows into the dentinal tubules & lateral canals
03. GUTTA-PERCHA
Soft core in case a retreatment is needed
02. CRYSTALLIZATION
Chemical bonding with dentin and tight sea
04. BIOACTIVITY
It supports peri-apical healing
BioRoot™ RCS
Bioceramic Endodontic Sealer
Bioceramic endodontic sealers have several advantages, including properties such as biocompatibility and bioactivity, stimulating bone formation. In cases of apical periodontitis, it is convenient to use a material with these characteristics. Thus, in this case report, the single cone technique associated with a bioceramic sealer was used to perform the obturation of the root canal system. The treatment was carried out using contemporary techniques and a simple endodontic obturation with BioRoot™ RCS bioceramic endodontic sealer.
