Vertical preparation Technique (BOPT)
Case By Dr. Lisa Fernandes Gonçalves – StyleItaliano Member
Initial situation
Patient with two metal-ceramic central crowns after trauma. Endodontic retreatment, crown replacement, vertical preparation, bleaching, and feldspathic veneers from 15 to 22 restored aesthetics and masked root discoloration.
Preparation
Technique removes tooth emergence profile and old finish line, creating a new area where crown margins can be shifted coronally or apically according to provisional restoration design.
i1 Depth Marker
First bur define veneer thickness. Based on wax-up volume and tissue preservation, burs are chosen. Pencil marks on initial grooves ensure precise preparation depth control for accurate results.
Final result
Final result: BOPT, simpler and faster than chamfer or shoulder. Proper temporary crown fabrication, with relining and profile shaping, ensures the desired form and fit of the final restoration.
Clinical Indications
Clinical application of veneer preparation sequence
i1 for 0.5mm depth marker bur
i2 for 1 mm incisal and buccal reduction
i3 for reparation and surface smoothing
i7 for proximal opening, feather-edge

Onlay / Overlay
StyleItaliano Sequence
Universal Combination for Indirect Restoration
Case By PROF. ANGELO PUTIGNANO – StyleItaliano FOUNDER
Preparation design evenly distributes occlusal forces, reducing fracture risk and aiding overlay cementation.
Initial situation
The initial situation involved a patient presenting with an old amalgam restoration on the lower first molar, which exhibited signs of infiltration.
Onlay
Once completed, preparation for the indirect restoration (onlay) was carried out using the STYLE INDIRETTO burs kit.
Overlay Conditioning
Overlay conditioned before cementation: 9% HF acid, rinse, 37% phosphoric acid, rinse, then silane application and air-dry.
Final result
Step luting protocol simplifies excess cement removal, especially interdentally, while universal adhesive and resin cement ensure long-term success.
